Plastic film cans are the cans which are used to store films and are made of inactive polypropylene plastic, which is proven safe for films. They look exactly same as other plastic cans but they have an advantage over other cans i.e. they are designed to breath and allow fresh air circulation. This design helps combat vinegar syndrome, keeping the films healthy for short or long term storage. Film doses are usually made of a black or gray plastic and are opaque because they are intended to protect the film from light. They are used for storage options. FilmDoses are used from early days of cinema. It was common for photographers to distribute large amounts of footage in the dark room into smaller sections and tease in cartridge or cartridges. The black film containers are constructed of virgin high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, a tough semi-rigid material commonly used for kitchen utensils, tools, toys, and numerous other applications. The gray container lid is made of low density polyethylene (LDPE), also a commonly used plastic.
